How to Style a Straw Hat
I’ve always loved the look of hats, but for the longest time I never thought I was a “hat person”. For some reason, even though I love how they add a little something extra to other peoples outfits and made an otherwise average outfit look perfectly put together, I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. If you’re like me and want to wear hats, but aren’t sure how, here are two ways to style a straw hat!
I love this first look because it’s such a casual, easy outfit, but I feel like the addition of the straw hat and bag makes it look way more pulled together than it otherwise would have. It took a boring outfit and added a bit more interest to it, and I think the overall look is so fun and playful.
Okay, I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw this dress in store I got major Manson Family/cult vibes (lol) and definitely would not have thought to buy it had I just seen the online pictures, because I don’t think they show the dresses true potential. But when I added my straw hat, a ribbon around the waist to give it some shape, a dainty gold layered necklace and my bag, it suddenly looked like a completely different (and far less culty) dress. This dress is definitely going to be a go-to this spring/summer because it’s so light and soft, it basically feels like you’re not wearing anything— and at only $20? Every color, please! I love the cut of the hem, I think the way it goes up along the thigh is extremely slimming, and makes it look a bit dressier than it would if it was just a straight hem.
