Skincare

First things first, let’s talk skincare! I know I’ve mentioned these Colleen Rothschild products I’ve been obsessing over lately in my Instagram Stories (check out my beauty highlights!), but I thought I’d go into a little more detail for you here! I know all of these products are a little bit of an investment, but I can very honestly say that they have made a HUGE difference in my skin ever since I have started using them consistently! To truly test the products, I have switched over to them entirely for about a month now, completely ditching all other skincare products I used to use. My current routine is: step 1. Radiant Cleansing Balm, step 2. Matcha Tea Treatment Toner, and step 3. Sheer Renewal Cream. I’ve been doing all three morning and night and I have noticed that my skin has been much more even, and has a glow to it that it didn’t have before, even without makeup! My favorite of the 3 is definitely the Radiant Cleansing Balm! I love it because it makes my skin feel way cleaner than most cleansers do (without drying it out!), and at night it easily takes off ALL my makeup with no scrubbing or having to go over certain areas a second time. If you only try one of these three products, this is the one I think has made the biggest difference in my skin.

After the Radiant Cleansing Balm, I go over my skin with a cotton pad and the Matcha Tea Treatment Toner. I love how refreshing the cold toner feels, especially after rinsing off the cleansing balm with warm water. The toner helps to absorb excess oil and minimize pores, breakouts and redness. I also sometimes like to use this throughout the day on no makeup days, or once right before I do my makeup on the days where I don’t put on makeup until much later in the day. It makes my skin feel clean and refreshed!

Finally, after the Cleansing Balm and the Treatment Toner I moisturize with the Sheer Renewal Cream. As someone who has pretty oily skin, I am always worried about moisturizers making it feel oilier than it already is. What I love about the Sheer Renewal Cream is that it’s oil free, and it actually gives my skin a more matte, powdery finish. It also promotes cell turnover and helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, which I will be completely honest, I have tried sooo many products that say they minimize wrinkles, but this product combo is the first one I have used where I’ve actually seen a noticeable difference when it comes to the lines on my forehead/between my eyebrows that I’ve always been kind of insecure about, so I’m definitely a believer.

Haircare

Now, let’s talk hair! Having long, tangle prone hair has always made me super picky when it comes to shampoos and conditioners that I’ll use. My family would always get mad at me because I would refuse to use hotel shampoo whenever we’d travel and would always make my mom drive me to the nearest grocery/convenience store so that I could pick up a shampoo that “actually worked”. So I was honestly a bit hesitant to try a new shampoo and conditioner combo after I had used the same kind for years. But after trying this Hask Gloss Boss White Wine Shampoo and Conditioner combo, I am a total convert! I love that it makes my hair super manageable and soft without weighing it down, like my old shampoo sometimes did. Also, my hair has never been shinier! I mean, just look at that top picture! I struggle with my hair often looking dull and damaged, especially between washes, but I’ve always been wary of “shine enhancing” shampoos and conditioners because I’ve been scared that they’d make my hair look greasy. This doesn’t at all!. I feel like it adds volume, and just makes my hair look so healthy! It’s also Free of Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Gluten, Drying Alcohol & Artificial colors. It’s the same price as my old favorite shampoo/conditioner combo, so it’ such an easy switch that I plan on continuing to use it long term.

Sun Safety

As much as I hate it, I’ve always been one of those people who burn, rather than tan, so good sunscreen is a MUST! I have a love hate relationship with sunscreen, because of course, it’s super important, BUT I hate the greasy feeling on my hands and skin, so I have a hard time making myself use it every day, even though I know I need to! OzeaDerma Anti-Aging Antioxidant Sunscreen is both new and new to me, and I’ve been loving how it’s moisturizing without feeling oily. The next sun safety product I received in my box were sunglasses from Zenni Optical. Things I love about these: they’re super sturdy, which is important because one of my biggest pet peeves is sunglasses that bend easily and then start to look crooked, and they were also GREAT at blocking out the sun when I tested them out at the pool the other day. I actually spent some time browsing the website this morning and there were sooo many cute pairs (see my collage above! I am actually super tempted to order the middle pair because it’s such a fun unique design!). The best part about them is that if you wear glasses, you can actually add your prescription to any of the frames they have available, which I think is so cool! Guilt Free Sweet Tea

Last but not least, let’s talk tea! I LOVE sweet tea, when it’s done well. I need it to be not too sweet, but sweet enough, so I’m definitely kind of picky when it comes to sweet tea that I’ll actually drink. And then you have to factor in sugar. As much as I do like sweet tea, it’s something I don’t let myself indulge in too often because the amount of sugar in most sweet tea is THROUGH THE ROOF. Think that episode of Parks and Rec where Leslie is trying to add a sugar tax and brings the bucket of sugar to the meeting to show how much sugar is in Sweetum’s sodas. Not something I want to be putting in my body regularly. So I was super excited to discover Straight Up Tea because their teas are all natural with zero artificial flavors or sweeteners. I also love that they have different levels for their sweet teas! There’s completely unsweetened, semisweet (my favorite) and your classic sweet tea! I’m so excited to have found Straight Up Tea because now I can drink all the sweet tea I want without feeling like I’m drinking straight up sugar water!
