Fiber Mascara: A Miracle in a Tube

I have always had really short, thin eyelashes, and I have tried just about every kind of mascara imaginable. Lately I have been seeing a lot of posts on Instagram about this new type of mascara that uses fibers that attach themselves to your eyelashes to make them look longer. I was a little bit skeptical, because the before and after pictures looked way too good to be true, but when I found a good deal on it through

Dean and Grace

, a "Text Message Shopping Club" that basically sends you texts almost daily with different product deals and allows you to buy the products by simply responding (it's dangerous. But also amazing. I should honestly unsubscribe. But deals.) I decided that it couldn't hurt to at least give it a try.

Here's what the kind I used looks like!

The mascara I ordered was called Love Alpha 3D Fiber Lash Extension Mascara, which you can buy

. To be honest I wasn't really expecting much, but it is AMAZING! What it is is a set of two tubes, one that's labeled "Transplanting Gel" and another labeled "Mascara Natural Fiber." To use it, you start with the transplanting gel and apply it like a regular mascara, and then you quickly put the fiber on top of the transplanting gel before it dries. You repeat this as many times as necessary to get the look you're going for, and then you finish with one last coat of the transplanting gel so that the fibers don't flake off.

The only complaint I have with this mascara is that it takes a lot longer than normal mascara does because you have to put on so many different layers, so when I'm in a hurry I just stick to the regular stuff.

For reference, here's what my eyelashes look like with regular mascara (:

Has anyone tried any other Fiber mascaras that they've loved? It's about time for me to buy a new one, and I'd love to hear which ones worked best for you! (:
